Kagoshima（鹿児島） Hot spring (20th May 2015)

This time I was searching for hot spring that has really great view to look at while relaxing myself in the hot spring.

And this RyokoJin Sansou, meaning Tourist Garden, came up at Kyushu's homepage.

This hot spring is at Girishima area if Kagoshima. If you can take the bus from Kagoshima central to Maruo（丸尾) bus station, they can send you the car (the photo above) to pick you up!! Their service is really good!!



As I said, I chose my onsen according to the view, let me show you some of the photos on their website!



This is one of the outdoor one where you can enjoy the Sakurajima (the volcano in Kagoshima) while relaxing!!



This switches between female and male according to their time slots.









This is just next to the above one and it switches with the above one.

I remember I was in this one in the morning, where as I was in the above one during the night.


The stars were extremely pretty during the night!! So not only is the view extraordinary during the day, the stars at night also fill your eyesight!!!

Oh and our hot spring plan also included a 45-min private hot spring in one of the three choices. We chose the 赤松の湯 - Akamatsu no Yu, which is outdoor inside the woods!!

We booked a time at around 4 oclock so the sun started to set and the road has all these lights lit!! It's like entering into the "Spirited Away" world!!!

Remember to rinse yourself before entering! And don't dip your towel inside the hot spring water!! These are the strict rules you have to follow when you are enjoying the Japanese Onsen!

Being in this forest alone with my friend, you can shout and sing as you like!! What a luxurious experience!

Now I will begin to show you my own photos! The Plan I joined was 薩摩グルメプラン・貸切風呂ＯＫ Satsuma delicious food Plan, private onsen section included! 

This plan allows us to eat the famous food in the area of Satusma for dinner, have private section of hot spring, Japanese styled breakfast and a Japanese styled room. It costed 13824yen, tax included. (at that time the exchange rate is low for HKD, so it's definitely not expensive!!!)

Let me show you our room!

 When you open the front door, you will see another door!

This room is very big for two persons and the view is perfect!! It's very typical Japanese one!

If the sky is clearer, the view is even better!!

By the time we came back from our dinner, the beds are made!

Oh btw, once you checked in, you can choose the kimono (Japanese gown) to wear!

Now let me introduce you the food we ate for dinner!

 As I can't choose between the black pork and the beef, I chose a menu that included both!

Sashimi (raw fish!)

umishu! - plum wine - It's actually quite sweet and doesn't taste a lot of alcohol. So if you dislike alcohol taste, it's a good choice for you!

I don't really know how to describe this but it's a mixture of seafood that is flavoured in different ways... But not the best on this table.

Stewed things... The tofu looking thing isn't tofu but a special type of Japanese food.

Fried prawn and vegetable!

This is a special dish that you won't be able to eat it often. It's a steamed baby bamboo and you have to peel it to eat it.

It's feels like carrots but softer one. And it tastes very pure and clean (if you get what I mean...)

 My favourite beef being grilled on hot rock!

And of course Japanese rice. But this one is flavoured!

 For dessert, we had melon and grapes!!

You might think the dishes are very small but if you eat so many different types of small dishes, you are actually quite full afterwards!!

We sat on the Japanese style seats but there are actually western ones where you don't have to seat on the floor.










And after long hours in Hot spring and a nice catch-up of sleep, here is our breakfast!

 Wow, I can't believe even our breakfast looks soooooo posh!!!

We have salad, onsen egg, and fish!














You put this fish on the hot metal and it will slowly cook itself!

While you are waiting, you can eat the very smooth, jelly like tofu with the soy sauce given.

And we can drink fruity vinegar with our breakfast which you can re-fill however many times you want!

 There is also a balcony for you to take some fresh air!!




We had a very nice time there because the service was excellent and the view was very mesmorising!!

Being my first natural Japanese Onsen, it's a very nice choice!! (since the Onsen opens till 2400!)

The surrounding area is also very beautiful!

We had a very very very very nice time here! And it was my first time enjoying natural hot spring! I will never forget that star night while chatting to some Japanese people! Also the special food we had!! It's so organised that I didn't want to destroy it and eat it ><

So we grabbed our luggage after getting off the hotel car and waited for the bus to head back to Kagoshima.
