Fuji ShibaZakura Matsuri (May 2015)

I was never the type that will go to see some flowers on purpose during a trip but it just so happened that I needed to wait for the wind to go right for me to para-glide. So at the mean time, I went to see this Fuji ChibaZakura Festival that took place near Mount Fuji.

When I arrived at the Mount Fuji Station, I saw this cute, funny train in front of me... Wish I was on this one... ><

Then I saw this large advertisement promoting people to see ShibaZakura (I guess it's a type of Sakura but grows on the ground?)

The ticket was really pretty too! It's worth keeping it for collection~

520Yen for an entrance ticket.

Once you entered, you will be following a path to walk around this park. The day I chose to go was Sunday so as you can see, it was extremely crowded! Though people are really disciplined and lined up one by one. ^^

If you look at the flowers closely, there are striped patterns on it!

The Flowers are mainly in pink and purple though~

But here comes the Best part!!!!

One without anyone on the way XD

                    Amazing right?!!

The Map of the whole Garden

But if there is a festival, then you really can't miss the special food they made just for that event!!!

Following the Path, you will end up going to this place where lots of food booths are set up!

                    Grilled Fish sticks!

They sold buns that look like Chinese dim sum buns~

Left: Vegetable Bun

Middle: Egg Plant Bun

Right: Mashed Red Bean Bun

As they said that the vegetable bun used the locally grown vegetable in that region, I chose that one... Though I didn't think there is any special... o.o''' To be honest...

Then my favourite part! Dessert!

This is like a crepe with mochi, Black Honey and Cream!

It was surprisingly good though! One of my favourite throughout this trip! Cos it's chewy but also waffle like! yum yum.

Of course Taiyaki (Fish-shaped waffle with fillings inside) is very common in Japan, but they had a Sakura Red Bean flavour!!!

WoW, so I told myself, I've got to try it!!

Lined up and bought a ticket from the machine

It's kind of scary but it does taste like Sakura flowers... Though it's a bit too sweet, it's still worth a try! Cos where are you ever going to find Sakura flavoured Taiyaki?!

For presents, I bought this Sakura flavoured Soba (a type of Japanese noodles that's normally in grey colour).

Soba is one of my favourite noodles so I guess Sakura Soba would taste really good!!

(P.S. I tried it at home and it was really fresh with a sense of Sakura taste! I wish I have bought more o.o)

Then when I got back to the station, it's food time again XD

Fuji Mount Special! It's a blue rose plus vanilla ice-cream! It's a MUST-TRY!!

The blue rose flavour was really good!!!

Then being the adventurous me, I have dug up my courage to try this wasabi chocolate flavoured ice-cream (below)

aw~~ It's really wasabi, except they don't really mix well together... WARNING... Do not try...

After that stunning experience of the wasabi chocolate ice-cream, I didn't dare to buy this Wasabi Kit-Kat...

Though it's worth a shot... (good luck)

Fuji Mount shaped Cake

Oh this honey caramel is EXTREMELY delicious! If you like honey and sweet things, you will definitely love it!

The website for the Fuji ShibaZakura Festival is: http://www.shibazakura.jp/

It opened between April and May~ It's really worth going!
