So, over the 4.5 days trip in Sendai, I ate grilled Ox Tongue 3 times ^^
When you walk along the central street of the shopping street, you will see many Ox tongue restaurants. According to my Japanese friends, they said 利久(RiKyu) is a decent one and that's listed under the Japanese Ox Tongue Official Website (http://www.gyutown.com/gyu_shop/rikyu/index.htm).
(Well, it's always good to trust a local friend I think ^^)
They have their menu hanging on the wall and because it's a specialised Grilled Ox Tongue restaurant, they didn't need a lot of food choices in their menu.
I ordered a Grille Ox Tongue set for 1575 Yen and it comes with rice and soup that has been merged with Ox ribs.
And... Take a CLOSER looK!
I have eaten ox tongue before in HK but it was nothing like it. There was no fishy taste to it but very beefy and a little chewy (in a good way) and refreshing!! Strongly recommend to anyone going to Sendai! You wouldn't feel like you are eating some slimy, smashed meat.
Then when I looked closer at the menu, I found this astonishing dessert! Ox Tongue flavoured ice-cream!!!!!!
And of course... It's inevitable of me to try this... (my natural instinct told me to do so...)
It was vanilla ice-cream with chopped dried ox tongue being mixed with it. Eating it with the crunchy biscuit was the best!!
Surprisingly, you can taste the saltiness of the ox tongue but you won't feel it doesn't mix well. It's opposite, where you will feel the dessert doesn't become too sweet because of the ox tongue!
The dessert costed 400 Yen (which I think it's reasonable)
You can go to the shop from exit no. 5 of Sendai and walk 1 min, then you will find it! It opens from 1130-1500, 1500-2300. Last order being 2230.

The other restaurant I went to was this one: Tanya Zenjirou 善治郎
It was the last night of me being in Sendai and I wanted to taste Ox tongue again before I go (since I don't really know when the next time I will be coming back ><)
It so happens that I was on that bridge that is above the Sendai station and connects all the large shopping malls. When I was walking alone that bridge, I saw one, so I entered.
It was quite busy on that day.
And I ordered the same thing.
This time, the rice is mixed with some wheat and the soup is the same. It costed 1500 yen.
The Grilled Ox Tongue is just as tasty even though I think it's not one of the famous one voted by local Japanese. So my conclusion is that Ox Tongue in general in Sendai is very delicious and one of the MUST-TRY!
It's just opposite PARCO!

Did you know that Ox tongue is so famous that on the 3/F of the Sendai Station, there is an indoor street called Ox-tongue street!!!
When you talk about Ox tongue, one of the most famous one that will come up on the web is Kisuke!
As it was dinner time, we had to queue a bit to go in!
The Ox Tongue set costed 1674 yen and it included soup, rice and some vegetables.
The slight difference here is that it has salt, miso and tare (the sause which you eat beef with).
I chose salt flavour because I don't want the sause to cover the Ox tongue taste ^^
I remember this one was bit tougher than the other two I ate but maybe it is because it's my 3rd time eating it so it didn't taste as amazing as my 1st time experience?

But either way, I would choose my 1st restaurant as my favourite out of the ox tongue restaurants!!!
