Being a food lover, I just can't stop eating while I am on holiday!!!
I was walking along the shopping streets in Sendai, and I saw this raspberry and cream taiyaki waffle!
I have always eaten the hot ones with the traditional red bean fillings. But this is very creamy and cake like!!
I love it! I forgot how much it was but it wasn't expensive.
Talking about taiyaki, you just can't forget this eye-catching "Gin no An" shop!
They have chocolate, custard, red bean and even the Hokkaido melon cream!!
The melon flavour is so popular that I had to come again after 3 hours because they were all sold out when I went there for the first time.
So I did some shopping first and went back.
They calculated how many melon taiyaki will be baked and then sell the exact amount. And I was the 2nd last (phew... lucky)
I just had to know why do people, even local Japanese locals will queue up for this!
Different from the traditional ones, they have this caramel coating which makes the waffle outer layer crispy!
And inside, there is melon cream, which really tasted melon (sorry for repeating...)
if you like very sweet things like me, I think you should really try it!!
Because the melon one is soooo good, I think the chocolate one will taste as goood too!
Being a sweet lover, I wouldn't miss the Chestnut cake!
Wow, the chestnut cream part was taking up 70% of the cake!!! <3 <3
costed 432yen!! |
if you are a chestnut lover, I have no doubt you will like it!! It doesn't taste like the fake chestnut cream that you get in a lot of bakery, but the very chest nutty taste!
OH AND ALSO MY FAVOURITE CREPE ICE-CREAM!!!
This may look very normal like a milk ice-cream... but no... the cone was made of crepe! and the ice-cream was nothing like you can imagine!!!!!!! It's definitely my favourite ice-cream in the whole WORLD!! Costed 500yen. (will introduce this further in my future blog entry!)
Being jealous of Japanese local people, Godiva always do new promotional drinks that you can't get in other countries.
And while I was there, they were doing...
White chocolate earl gray drink!!!
547yen only!
Oh and there is this cute little birdy that I can't put my mouth near it cos it's just too cute to eat it! so I just took a photo.. (XD sorry... useless me) 400yen
Oh and I just can't forgive myself if I don't recommend this cake shop. You can find this Waldschlosschen cake shop in many big shopping centres in Japan. So it's not hard to find one!)
I don't know whether I have mentioned that I am a huge cheese lover and I just can't live without cheese.
This double cheese cake costing 376 yen was too attractive and I bought it and finished it straight away!
it was very creamy inside and indeed very fulfilling.
But if you ask me I will recommend this cheaper version of a cheese tart to you than the one above.
It was being put inside the fridge so you are meant to eat it cold, though its name is steamed cheese.
This cheese cake is very cheesy, not too sweet which matches perfectly with the creamy sensation it gives you when it enters your mouth. (drooling starts again...)
Although it was cold, it didn't harden and it contains everything you can dream of from a cheese cake!! (Oh i couldn't take a photo of it because I was too eager to have it and forgot to take one... it was THAT good.)
Coming back to proper meals, I have near tried eating in a restaurant where you have to stand to eat so I went straight in!
This restaurant sold very cheap soba and udon!!
Well... you can't really say you are standing cos there are chairs...
But it's definitely for solo people, or... lonely people even... (><''')
330yen only!!
sorry... I forgot the address of this restaurant but it's 5 mins away from the Sendai Station...
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
